About YABR

What is YABR?

Young Adult Book Reviewer (YABR) is a website dedicated to unpicking and analyzing the inner workings of new Young Adult fiction. The targeted age group for readers of YA fiction is 12-18 years old, but in the past 20 years it has become clear that YA books are read by people of all ages. Harry Potter, Twilight and other multimillion dollar book franchises probably have something to do with this change. Young Adult fiction is a rich breeding ground of fantastical plots, flawed characters, coming of age tales and a blend of childhood and adulthood. (What more can you want from a book?!)

While we will be picking off the Goodreads monthly new release list we are happy to review any works that fall within the young adult book category so long as they are published in a form available to the public. (eBook and/or Print)

YABR is an acronym but it is also a play on the Australian word ‘yabber’.

Define yabber [ˈjæbə] Australian

v. to talk or jabber

YABR will be doing a lot of yabbering about books. I hope you enjoy our viewpoints and look forward to hearing your own!

Nice to meet you, Josephine. I am also enamored to Harry Potter, Twilight, and Hunger Games! I am yet to try Game of Thrones, but my friends said that the series is also exciting! Hoping to read your posts 🙂

  2. Hi! Lovely to meet you too. Thank you for checking out my site! You should absolutely start reading Game of Thrones, although if you’ve already watched season 1 just skip to the second book because they followed it so closely you’ll be bored. Anyway nice to meet a fellow HP, Twilight & Hunger Games fan.
