Last week Divergent trilogy author Veronica Roth announced that she’d be writing four short stories about Four. Today, she has shed a little more light on what the stories will be about and their titles.
Roth confirmed that the titles for each of the four Four books are (in the order of release): The Transfer, The Initiate, The Son, and The Traitor. They will be released on September 24, December 17, January 21, and February 11 respectively.
“These stories mostly address Tobias’s backstory and some mysterious things happening in his world before Tris joins Dauntless. There will be some overlap with Divergent’s timeline, though,” Roth wrote on her official Tumblr.
The author also confirmed that the stories will be initially released in eBook format, but in February they will hit book store shelves in one compilation and attached with Free Four.
Free Four is the first short story released as an eBook. It was published last year. The story follows Four as he watches Tris in the knife throwing scene. Fans adored the short story because it offer perspective into what Four was thinking as his love interest was experiencing an intense moment to prove herself as a member of Dauntless.
While everyone’s looking forward to these new stories starring Four, we first are waiting for Allegiant, the third and final book in Roth’s Divergent trilogy, which hits book store shelves this October.
Theo James stars as Four in the Divergent movie which is currently filming in Chicago and will be out in theatres 21 March 2014!
Thank you to @donaldduckdad who has shared 8 awesome photos of the Abnegation Village. In the photos you can see the Abnegation houses from a few different angles. From the photos we can see that the inside of the houses are empty.
Divergent opens in theaters March 21, 2014 and is currently filming in Chicago. It is based on the first book in Veronica Roth’s dystopian trilogy of the same title. Insurgent, the second book, already has a script in the works. The third and final book, Allegiant, will hit book stores this October. Ansel Elgort, who plays Caleb Prior, Tris’ brother, in the Divergent movie, recently shared a photo of he and his fellow family-portraying cast members.
The photo depicts Tony Goldwyn (Andrew Prior), Ashley Judd (Natalie Prior), Ansel Elgort (Caleb), and Shailene Woodley (Tris) squished together into the frame.
From what they’re wearing it doesn’t look like Abnegation clothing so we can assume they’re out in Chicago for some event or time off.
Divergent started filming in April and will continue for a couple more weeks. The film will be released in theatres on 21 March, 2014.
The third and final book in Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy, Allegiant, will be published on October 22. If you want to meet Veronica Roth on her book launch tour in October, click on this link to find out how you can get her to your state. (U.S. only)
Woodley and Elgort will next be seen in the John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars when they portray each others love interests (Hazel and Gus).
Earlier today the Divergent faction symbols for Dauntless, Abnegation, Candor, Erudite and Amity that will be used for the upcoming movies were released by the movie’s official Instagram.
The symbols were released in descending order according to the amount of likes each faction received throughout the day on their specific images that can be seen here.

The newly opened Divergent Instagram has released five faction graphics designed to promote each faction’s manifesto! In order of appearance below there is: Erudite, Amity, Dauntless, Abnegation and Candor. The faction symbols are scheduled to be revealed sometime today but first we have to choose which faction we belong in!
The fans have the chance to choose their faction by ‘liking’ the respective manifesto on instagram! The faction that receives the most amount of likes will have their symbol appear first, followed by the subsequent factions in order of ‘likes’. The faction symbols will begin to be revealed following the conclusion of the Choosing Ceremony. You can participate in the Instagram iPhone application, or on the website. Which remaining one are you most excited for? Entertainment Weekly already released the Dauntless symbol, which you can click here to see. These graphics below are NOT faction symbols. They are just artsy graphics of the faction manifestos!
The filmmakers of the adaptation for Veronica Roth’s bestselling book, ‘Divergent’, have decided to rebrand the faction symbols for the movie. In true movie advertising style, they won’t show us all of the newly designed symbols at once. They’re going to release them slowly and today was the first day! Thanks to Entertainment Weekly for the pic. Below you can see the symbol for Dauntless, the faction that Tris chooses to become a part of. What do you think of it? I personally would have preferred the color version that fans had made. (Check it out below the new film version.)
Divergent, if you haven’t read the books, is a dystopian world set in Chicago. The population is split into five factions: Abnegation (selfless), Erudite (intelligent), Candor (honest), Amity (peaceful) and Dauntless (brave). Children are born into a faction their parents chose for themselves and then when they are sixteen, they get to choose their own faction – but if they choose a different faction from their family, they never get to see them again.
To see the other four faction symbols you can follow @Divergent on Instagram for the full reveal on Thursday, 5/23 at 9 am PT.
Divergent, the film, stars Shailene Woodley as Tris, Theo James as Four, Kate Winslet as Jeanine, Miles Teller as Peter, Zoe Kravitz as Christina, Jai Courtney as Eric, Ben Lloyd-Hughes as Eric, Christian Madsen as Al, Ben Lamb as Edward, and Ansel Elgort as Caleb. Tony Goldwyn and Ashley Judd will be portraying Tris and Caleb’s parents.
The film will be released in U.S. cinemas on 21 March, 2014.
