A gorgeous trailer for Romeo and Juliet has just been released by MTV and you can watch it right here!
The film is directed by Carlo Carlei and stars Oscar-nominee Hailee Steinfeld in the role of Juliet, and Douglas Booth in the role of Romeo. Ed Westwick and Kodi Smit-McPhee join in supporting roles.
“Romeo & Juliet” opens in cinemas October 11.
In a new interview with AccessHollywood, Shailene Woodley revealed that, “Theo James, who plays my love interest in the film, is 28. In the book his character is about 18, but in the movie we’re making him about 24, or 25. He’s kind of ageless in a way. Even though in the book Tris is 16, we never really allude to the fact that she’s that young….this film has a kind of maturity to it. People constantly compare us to Hunger Games and I think that’s awesome. It kicked ass and Jen Lawrence is amazing. I think it’s a big compliment.”
Obviously Theo James doesn’t look 18, so fans of the books may feel a bit better knowing that they have changed his age for the films, rather than trying to pass him off as an 18 year old. I wonder how they don’t mention Tris’ age in the movie when she and her fellow peers go through the choosing ceremony at the age of 16. Their ages probably won’t take or changing anything from the story but it is a factor considering the age of the audience, particularly the fans of the books. In any case I’m sure we can all agree that we can’t wait to see Divergent in theaters March 21, 2014!
Following the awesome Catching Fire trailer shown at Comic-Con, Lionsgate has released a new still Monday morning featuring a shirtless Finnick played by Sam Claflin. The photo depicts Finnick handing a sugar cube – a memorable scene in the book by Suzanne Collins – over to Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence). “He offered me a sugar cube and asked to know all my secrets,” goes Katniss in the book.
Check out the sexy pic below:
Along with the trailer we were also treated to a great set of posters depicting each Quarter Quell tribute. You can check those out here!
Catching Fire hits theaters November 22, 2013.
The second trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has debuted at San Diego Comic-Con this afternoon after being introduced by Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss) , Josh Hutcherson (Peter), and Liam Hemsworth (Gale).
It looks awesome! The visual special effects look like they’ve improved too. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be out in cinemas this November!
Brenton Thwaites has been cast as Jonas in the upcoming adaptation of The Giver! According to Deadline, Thwaites beat out several other upcoming actors for the lead role of Jonas. Thwaites will be starring opposite Jeff Bridges, who is also producing the film.
Jonas is chosen to be the next Receiver of Memory in his seemingly Utopian society. He bonds with the current Receiver played by Bridges. Throughout the story Jonas discovers the lies and deception his society is built on.
Philip Noyce will direct the adaptation of Lois Lowry’s 1993 dystopian children’s novel. The movie is set to start filming in South Africa this fall. The screenplay was adapted by Vadim Perelman with a rewrite by Michael Mitnick.
Brenton Thwaites is an Australian actor who is best known for his work as Stu Henderson on soap opera Home and Away. He has also just finished several projects, including Son of a Gun and The Signal. He was also cast as the Prince in Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning.
Clearly the characters in The Giver film will be older than they are portrayed in the book (11 years old). Do you think this will change the message and essence of the film’s portrayal of the book?

Peter Jackson has shared a photo on his official Facebook page this morning revealing that Ian McKellen is now finished with his role as Gandalf!
“Seconds ago we finished our last shot with Gandalf,” wrote Jackson. “The end of an incredible adventure that began in 1999. I’m feeling very sad right now.”
He attached the following photo which depicts Jackson and McKellen arm-in-arm:
Jackson seems quite confident that this will be his last time shooting a J.R.R. Tolkien movie despite the fact that there is more material to be adapted. Earlier this year he explicitly told fans that they were filming pick ups for The Hobbit which would be the last time he ever shoots in Tolkien’s worlds.
Fans have been hoping that Jackson and Warner Bros. would obtain the rights to Tolkien’s The Silmarillion, but there’s no news on that front yet.
The second film in The Hobbit trilogy, The Desolation of Smaug, opens in theaters on December 14. The final film, There and Back Again, hits theaters December 13, 2014.
The series stars Martin Freeman in the role of Bilbo Baggins.
Actor Nat Wolff says he’s up for a role in The Fault in Our Stars movie. Wolff was originally in the running to be the lead male role of Gus but as that part eventually went to Ansel Elgort, he’s free to pursue other roles.
“It was really great. The script is really great,” Wolff said about auditioning for Gus. But the second part of his comment was more interesting, “Josh Boone, who did Stuck in Love is directing the movie, and I think I might—it’s still in negotiations—but I might be playing another role in the movie. [We’re] still figuring it out. I’d love to be a part of it, just to work with Josh, and it’s a cool story.” – Hollywood Crush
The obvious choice for Wolff would be Isaac, the cancer patient who lost both of his eyes and is Gus’ best friend.
Wolff starred in Boone’s Stuck in Love, which is how he probably auditioned for Gus in the first place. We’re glad to see that Boone and producer Wyck Godfrey are still trying to have him be a part in The Fault in Our Stars. He played the role of Rusty, brother of Samantha (Lily Collins) and son of William (Greg Kinnear). Stuck in Love hits United States theaters July 5.
The Fault in Our Stars movie will begin shooting this August. The highly-anticipated adaptation of John Green’s beloved novel stars Elgort as Gus and Shailene Woodley as Tris. The two are currently shooting another book to film, Divergent by Veronica Roth, in Chicago.
